Ken Ham holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science with an emphasis on environmental biology from the Queensland Institute of Technology in Australia and the graduate diploma of education from the University of Queensland. In recognition of Ham’s contributions to churches both in the USA and internationally, he’s been awarded five honorary doctorates: Doctor of Divinity (1997) Temple Baptist College; Doctor of Literature (2004) Liberty University; Doctor of Letters (2010) Tennessee Temple University; Doctorate in Humane Letters (2012) Mid-Continent University, and Doctor of Science (2017) Bryan College.
Since his 1987 move to America, Australian Ham has become one of the world’s most in-demand Christian conference speakers and talk show guests with his 2014 creation/evolution debate with Bill Nye “the Science Guy” watched by an estimated 15 million people. He is also heard daily on national radio.
In May of 2007, Answers in Genesis’s Founder Ken Ham opened the high-tech Creation Museum in Cincinnati, a state-of-the-art facility containing world-class exhibits and whose first nine years attracted 2.7 million guests. The Ark Encounter with its life-size Noah’s Ark opened in July 2016, and its first 10 weeks drew over 300,000 awe-struck visitors.
A biblical apologist, Ham speaks to tens of thousands each year with the purpose of upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse. As prolific, best-selling author of many books and articles on Genesis, his works include the eye-opening Already Gone, The Lie: Evolution, One Race, One Blood, How Could a Loving God …?, and the provocative book Already Compromised.
Ham’s Australian accent, keen sense of humor, and exceptional PowerPoint illustrations have made him one of North America’s most effective Christian communicators, and one of the best blokes around. Ken and his wife, Mally, reside in the Cincinnati area. They have 5 children and 16 grandchildren.
